Starting from Avenida 5 de Julho or Ex rua Inglesa to Praça Nova or Praça Amílcar Cabral (this is the center of the Island) where you can visit the Museum of Traditional Arts, the Cultural Center from Mindelo. Then, passing by the Eagle Monument (tribute to the 1st crossing of the North Atlantic) towards Rua Libertadores d´Africa, the Municipal Market, Palácio do Povo and the Ex-Quartel and later Escola Preparatória Jorge Barbosa, home of Cesária Évora “Diva of bare feet” and atelier Joana Pinto.

Then head to Madeiral, Praceta Baltazar Lopes (leader of Mov. Literário Claridade) next to the City Hall and the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Sr.ª da Luz, Praça Dom Luiz I, passing through Rua da Praia, Torre de Belém, Fish Market and the Praça Independência Market.

From Praça Estrela we will go to Atelier dos Baptistinhas where we will have a detailed demonstration of the making of string instruments followed by a small exhibition/concert. (entrance ticket not included in the tour price)

On the way back we will make a short stop at the Meteorological Center where we will discover a very colorful city under the guard of the majestic Monte Cara, housing one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

This excursion offers you the opportunity to explore an island rich in attractions—not only for its lush green landscapes and arid terrains but, above all, for the majestic beauty of its mountains, earning it the name "Island of Mountains."

Departing from Porto Novo to Ribeira Grande, the journey passes through the scenic towns of Cova and Corda, before reaching Ribeira Grande. Here, you'll take a short tour to learn about the island’s history, admire colonial-era townhouses, experience local daily life, and enjoy tastings of traditional products and drinks.

Next, we continue to Ponta do Sol, another charming town, where lunch will be served at a restaurant offering authentic Cape Verdean cuisine.

After lunch, we head towards Vale do Paúl, with a stop at a Grogue distillery, where you’ll have the opportunity to taste Cape Verde’s famous local rum.

The tour then continues to the town of Janela.

For the return journey, we take the new asphalt road, offering breathtaking views of the lighthouse and a variety of landscapes.
